I thought that this quote was kind of confusing and hard to take in, but what I think Napoleon is trying to say, is that the reason why humans seek glory is because when you have achieved a goal, it feels good to have everyone recognize it. Although, some time after that, everyone will begin to forget about it and soon you crave that feeling of glory, becuase now you are just an obscurity; the thing everyone fears most. Being a nobody.

People want glory because they always want to be noticed or rewarded for simple things they do. I do agree with this quote, because many people in the world want glory more than anything else.

  3. I think humans seek glory everyday to be accepted by their peers or to be known or recognized. I agree with Napoleon because he is right. Glory will not last long unless you do something to make it more known or do something to keep it up. Obscurity scares us because everybody in the world wants to be known or have some importance. No one wants to be unimportant and have no meaning.

  4. I think people seek glory so they can fell like somebody and to fell like they have accomplished something in life. I do agree with Napoeleon about glory because glory does not last as like as we like because its gone quicker than peole realize. Obsocurity scares us because we don't want our life to serve no purpose.

  5. Personally, I think that people seek glory to feel a sense of pride. I think that glory is about making someone feel as if they're better than another. Sometimes, thats just the kind of feeling people feed off of. I think that Napoleon was right about his view on glory. People's ideas are ever-changing. One day someone could seem great, and the next day they're unliked. It's just like the saying, "fifteen minutes of fame". In most cases though, people would like to maintain that fame. Humans aren't comfortable with being obscure. It makes them feel as it they are "nobody".

  6. Why do we seek glory? well we seek glory because its practically what most people know. we do not seek it for fame, nor for money, mostly we seek glory for recognition. As far as obscurity goes, its only if you fear it for yourself within reality its your thoughts. Now in my opinion glory is fleeting. one time its here, the next poof its gone. a good example is such as most celebrities. One Minute of Fame. Glory comes and goes so admire it while its there.

    Why do people want glory?

People want glory to get recognized by doing spectacular, great, and basically to achieve things they wanted to do. So by having glory it will also give you power and people will see you different.
